The first thing that hits me when I start up Mega Man 10 is that the latter problem seems to be fixed. The game was very black, which isn't Mega Man to me. If I had any complaints about the design last time, it would probably be that the levels were a bit colorless. Pixels are art, and it was great to hear Capcom's composers working within the constraints put on them by the NES sound chip again. The controls will never be that wonderfully precise if the levels aren't rendered with such clarity. Capcom went back to its roots, not only because it was retro-cool, but because Mega Man thrives in glorious 8-bit.

This should be in a museum, and now it kind of is If you think original titles were hard, wait till you give these a go. Put simply, challenge mode is crazy, and you’ll have to really struggle to complete levels. It is an entirely new mode that brings with it surprising difficulties thanks to setting you different goals to achieve as you make your way through levels. This mode takes all the levels, and remixes them in entirely new ways to test both novice and veteran players. One major new addition to this collection is the new Challenge Mode. You can choose any of the six games to play, and keep throwing yourself against them in a desperate attempt to make it to the end – all the while knowing a single misstep could cost you one of your precious lives.
The games in the bundle also faithfully reproduce the gameplay: in that it is punishingly hard.
